Chef Tony Dim Sum is the newest project for Tony He, the chef behind the very popular Sea Harbour in nearby Rosemead, as well as Chef Tony, a beloved institution in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Here in Old Pasadena, Chef Tony has created a modern dim sum experience, blending Cantonese staples with inventive interpretations. The dishes are a reflection of Guangdong Cantonese cuisine layered with refined touches and high-quality ingredients. Guests won’t find rolling carts here; instead all dishes are made-to-order and include ingredients such as freshly shaved black truffles and gold leaf touches. The restaurant, housed inside the historic 1929 Bear Building, stays open late on weekends and offers cocktails, Tsingdao beer, and baijiu, the fiery Chinese spirit.
