In light of the measures taken in response to COVID-19 and the mandated closures, we recognize what a hardship this presents to your business and are working diligently to put together several resources from local, state, and national entities expressly designed for small businesses. In addition, we are including information that may be relevant for employees, property owners, and any of our stakeholders. The situation is extremely fluid, but we are doing our best to compile and organize this information.

California Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
Gov. Newsom's new, consumer-friendly website highlights critical steps people can take to stay healthy and resources available to Californians impacted by the outbreak, including paid sick leave and unemployment assistance.

New! California’s Roadmap to Modify the Stay-at-Home Order  On April 14, Gov. Newsom presented the six key indicators that will guide California’s thinking for when and how to modify the stay-at-home and other orders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

211 LA County - Residents, renters, and business owners, including persons with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, may call 211 LA County at any time for emergency preparedness information, and other referral services - 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

New! SBDC Webinar Regarding Business Financial Assistance  The California SBDC is hosting a daily webinar including Q&A discussing the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, Payroll Protection Program, Disaster Bridge Loan, 7a Forgiveness Program, and other funding opportunities for your business. Information is changing and updating daily and the SBDC wants to make sure Small Business owners are being provided the most up to date factual information as to what is available for funding. The webinar will be 30-40 minutes daily at 3:00pm with a brief Q&A after. Registration is free and can be accessed here.  

New! CRF-USA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) At 1pm on April 15, the County of Los Angeles in partnership with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative and Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF) launched a new application portal for small businesses and nonprofits seeking to apply for the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a forgivable loan product created by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Update 1:30pm - April 15:  Due to high demand not continuing to accept applications until further notice.

The Los Angeles County Employer Assistance Grant Fund  Businesses impacted by COVID-19 can apply for grants up to $10,000. Application opens 8:00am, Thursday April 9.

The Small Business Owner’s Guide to the CARES Act  U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship has created a comprehensive guide to many of the small business provisions in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress on March 27, 2020. These programs and initiatives are intended to assist business owners with whatever needs they have right now. 

Coronavirus Emergency Loans Small Business Guide & Checklist.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has issued a guide to help small businesses and self-employed individuals check eligibility and prepare to file for a loan.

Small Business Tax Extension. On March 30, 2020, Governor Newsom signed an executive order to allow California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) to offer a 90-day extensions for tax returns and tax payments for those filling $1,000,000 of tax payments or less. See below for the press release announcing these provisions.

Small Business Administration 
Information on Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance; SBA makes loans available to small businesses and private, non-profit organizations in designated areas of a state or territory to help alleviate economic injury caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The application link is now open for any California businesses to apply for a Disaster Loan related to economic damage from the COVID-19 health crisis. Businesses are encouraged to apply early. For information about the 3-Step Process, the SBA provides a helpful overview found here.

The Small Business Finance Center (SBFC) partners with Financial Development Corporations to provide loan guarantees and direct loans for small businesses that experience capital access barriers.
